ASTM C1609 Fiber-Reinforced Concrete Flexural Test Equipment
Concrete structures undergo bending forces every day, such as cars driving over concrete bridges, parking garages and streets. In order to safely rely on our reinforced concrete structures, concrete must be tested to determine its flexural performance. International testing standard ASTM C1609 determines the flexural performance of fiber-reinforced concrete using load-deflection curve calculations. These calculations are obtained by testing a simply supported beam under third-point loading using a closed-loop, servo-controlled testing system.
ASTM C1609
The first-peak strength, peak strength, and residual strengths determined by this test method reflect the behavior of fiber-reinforced concrete under static flexural loading. ASTM C1609 can be used for comparison of mixtures, quality control, and research and development.
Equipment required
TestResources provides specially configured test machines and fixtures for testing fiber-reinforced concrete samples. A universal test machine capable of servo-controlled operation should be used with the net deflection of the center of the beam measured and used to control the rate of increase of deflection. Our bend test engineers will help find the testing solution that is right for you. Give us a call today for help with creating the best budget and testing plan according to ASTM C1609.
