3 point bending fixtures make it possible to measure
flexural break strength or yield. 4 pont bending or flex test
fixtures are also available. Three point bend fixtures can expand
to 4 point flex test fixtures with added components. Industry
standard flex testing methods include ASTM C158, ASTM D790, ASTM
D638, ISO 178, ASTM D7264, ASTM A360, ASTM C633, ASTM E855, ASTM
D6109, ASTM D3043, ASTM C293 ASTM E1290, ASTM D6272, ASTM C1161,
so care must be taken when selecting a product. Anvils adjust
to different span specimens. The specimen is supported on two
precision machined anvils of a desired radius. Force is applied
centrally (3 pt bend test) or at defined distances either side
of center (4 pt bend test).
