Screw Side Opening Grips offer affordable and efficient
solutions to gripping tensile test specimens at loads up to 11,250
lb (50 kN). Most products feature interchangeable jaws or faces
to handle the wide range of round, flat and irregular sample types
and geometries. Smooth surface, rubber faced, serrated or pyramid
cut, V cut for rounds, wave or corrugated surfaces for slippery
samples such as textiles and tissues, and diamond grit surfaces.

Wedge grips are available in hydraulic, mechanical
lever arm, and pneumatic loading. They feature easy specimen loading,
self alignment, centerline sample positioning and higher force
capacity than side acting grips. Wedge gripping forces increases
as load goes up, so they are ideal when high clamp load is needed
– such as gripping difficult to hold materials.

Pincher and Scissor grips are ideal for soft materials that experience
a large reduction in cross-section area under load, including
elastomers such as foam or dogbone flat samples of flexible plastics.
Eccentric roller grips feature a self-tightening clamp action
ideal for flat samples of thin sheets, films, flexible plastics
and elastomers. |

Pneumatic
Tensile Grips
Air cylinders are added to side opening grips
and used in lever arm designs, wedge style, and specialty applications
where precision clamping, high load clamping or process repeatability
are important. They serve static tensile and cyclic tension testing
applications involving foils, threads, fine wires, fabric, thin
sheets, films, plastic tapes, and soft materials. Our product
line is modular and so cylinders can be supplied in different
applications. |
